Welcome to WooJung, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of London at 73 New Oxford St. This enchanting Korean restaurant takes pride in offering an authentic dining experience that transports you straight to the cozy cafes of Seoul. As you step inside, you’re greeted with the aromas of sizzling meats and fragrant broths, all prepared with care and tradition.
WooJung is known for its incredible "sizzlers," featuring mouthwatering dishes like Beef Bulgogi and Dak Bulgogi, each bursting with rich flavors. The essence of Korean cuisine shines through in their assortment of home-made kimchi and marinated meats, perfect for indulging in a lively Korean BBQ experience at home. The menu also boasts a variety of comforting mains, ranging from the ever-popular Bibimbap to the soul-soothing Jjigae, each crafted to deliver a taste of home and a sense of familiarity.
Customer reviews reflect a deep appreciation for the authentic flavors and friendly atmosphere. Philippa Cooke captures it perfectly by noting that WooJung feels reminiscent of a side-road Seoul café. It’s a place where you can enjoy affordable yet high-quality dishes, whether you're visiting for a quick lunch or a leisurely meal with friends. Patrons have praised the friendly staff who are always ready to recommend their favorites—and trust me, you can't go wrong with the jigae or the Korean fried chicken!
The experience at WooJung is enhanced by the unique setting; you enter through a vibrant shop that offers an array of Korean ingredients and snacks, adding an exciting element to your visit. Once you make your way downstairs, you’ll find ample seating that feels both intimate and welcoming, albeit with a note of caution for those who may need more accessible options.
While some dishes like the kimchi jjigae have drawn minor critiques for portion sizes, the flavors remain consistently praised as extraordinary. You’ll want to savor the rich, deep tastes that only a true Korean kitchen can provide. Also, don't forget to bring your favorite drink from the shop and take advantage of their reasonable corkage fees, allowing you to enjoy a perfect pairing with your meal.
In a city bustling with dining choices, WooJung stands out as a heartfelt tribute to Korean cuisine. It’s a place that not only highlights the comfort and joy of sharing good food but also evokes a nostalgic feeling reminiscent of home. Don’t miss the chance to experience it for yourself—I can assure you, your taste buds will thank you.

Everybody thinks they have replicated a local Korean cafe, authentic flavours and vibes, but miss. Here does not, it is very reminasent of a side road Seoul Cafe, affordable, quick and reliable no matter what dish you have. This is lovely lunch spot. You enter through the shop, which is equaly as good for a small central London spot, the restaurant is down stairs.

Great comfort Korean food with moderate price. We love the jigae, korean fried chicken, bibimbap, toppoki (we come often and these are our usual order). All the staff are very friendly .

Good price and portions, cute little restaurant in the back of a Korean supermarket! Food was delicious. Apparently Blackpink's Jennie came here once. There was a bit of a queue when we entered but got seated very quickly for 2 people. Wide range on the menu, tasted authentic. You can buy alcohol from the supermarket attached and drink it at the table but there is a corking fee. Servers were polite and efficient! And there is loads of space downstairs.

반찬이랑 고기 너무 맛있게 잘먹었어요 Side dish, assorted home made kimchi and marinated meats are always so spot on. Very underrated! You can just throw the marinated meats on your pan and make Korean BBQ at home

Some of the best kimchi stew I've had in a while, so tasty! Only complaint is that there was only three tiny pieces of pork in my stew, and a person next to me ordered the same stew and I heard them voice the same complaint to their friend, "there's not enough meat in this." But otherwise the flavor is top tier. The space is quite small, but it gives it a nice homely hole in the wall vibe. It's only accessible via steep stairs, so not handicap friendly.

This Korean restaurant is a hidden gem. It is easily missed if you are not looking for the restaurant specifically. It is hidden inside a Korean mart. The price is very affordable in London, portion size is sufficiently filling for Asians, flavour is excellent. It is like a homemade meal, so do not expect nice plating. The staffs were friendly enough. The meals are served relatively promptly even though it is a busy restaurant. The atmosphere is like a basic Korean restaurant. Note that the restaurant is very small and does not have lots of space between customers. The experience for us was so great that we went for both lunch and dinner on the same day while we were at London.
